Construction has completed at Capilano University, on the ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) building that features mass timber structural elements requiring specialized bracing and lifting solutions.

The F3 Timber Tech product used on this project was the CRUX Bracket and Bracing System.

The CRUX Bracket and Bracing System provided dual functionality throughout the construction process, serving both as a bracing solution and lifting point. The system delivered rigid, adjustable bracing for mass timber columns and beams, maintaining structural stability and crew safety during installation phases.

The CRUX bracket’s versatility allowed it to brace columns of any height, and when used in conjunction with horizontal cables, created temporary diaphragms as needed. The same bracket doubled as a secure lifting point, simplifying handling and crane logistics without compromising safety or installation speed.

The system’s design supports rapid deployment and streamlined sequencing while reducing timber surface damage through its no direct steel-to-wood contact approach. This minimizes equipment changes between construction phases, contributing to overall project efficiency and maintaining the quality of the mass timber elements throughout the installation process.
